Discussing and commenting

The difference

→ to discuss sth. = look at an issue from different perspectives (pro/ cons) → to comment on sth. = not neccesarily pro/ con, but rather express own opinion

• clear strucutre for both
• possible in comment: use an argument of opposing position to defeat it

Discussing/ commenting in an article:

• ionform reader about issue and express opinion
• can give advice/ suggest sth. to reader
• language and formality appropriate for readers
• when using ideas from other material → restate authors views, arguments or anything relevant for argument in own words
• alwas add own ideas based on own knowledge
