1770s: 13 british colonies on norhteastern coast → still dependent on England
1775 - 1783: revolutionary war against dependency to britain → resulting in committe of the "Founding Fathers" that declared Americas independence on the 4th of July in 1776
1787: guidelines for constitution written
1789: first US-President George Washington
